What are Missional Communities?

Missional Communities (MCs) are smaller gatherings of people where shepherding, fellowship and mission collide.  They are a place for us to live life on mission together.  A Missional Community is NOT primarily a Bible study, support group, social activist group, or simply a weekly meeting. While these things may be a part of them, their primary purpose is to see the neighborhoods where they meet changed by the Gospel as it is lived out in community and those involved discipled in the life of Jesus.

What should you Expect?

Missional Communities gather around our city throughout the year. Each group follows a monthly rhythm of two nights of discussion, one night to gather as a family for a meal and fun, and one day or night for mission/service to our community.  While what happens in our MCs will vary from week to week, Christ is the constant, and you can come each week expecting to grow deeper in your relationship with him and to see his name glorified throughout our city. MCs give space to our lives to give time to making disciples on a regular basis. Most MCs have anywhere from 5-10 couples. You do not have to be a part of PVCC to be apart of a MC.

Our dream is nothing less than to see the city of Owensboro changed by the power of the Gospel, and we believe that Missional Communities are a great way to grow together and engage our neighborhoods for this purpose.
